Hello Everyone

As we begin the 2025 school year, we hope that the transition has been smooth and successful for all families. With March upon us, we are excited to share the events for this month. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the 2025 Individual/Participant Survey. Your feedback is invaluable and will help us to make informed decisions at the Annual Planning Meeting 4th – 6th March 2025. BRAVO!! The Board is thrilled to announce that two new Sub-Committees – ‘Fundraising for the Charity’ and ’20 Year Celebration 2026’ met in the last few weeks. These Sub-Committees are dedicated to driving Bravo’s Mission forward and planning a memorable celebration for Bravo’s 20th Anniversary. If you would like to be involved, please email us at governance@bravo.org.au or simply call the Office, and the Secretary will respond.

Bravo's Ideas Factory Initiative

Got an idea that might be interesting for Bravo to look at? Welcome to Bravo's February Edition!

February has been a month of exciting new partnerships and initiatives for Bravo. We are pleased to announce a new salary sacrifice partner for the Bravo Team, providing more financial benefits and flexibility for Bravo Staff and Volunteers. Additionally, Bravo has joined Volunteering Queensland, strengthening our commitment to community engagement and support. Another key milestone this month is our partnership with Gympie Regional Council to launch the Emergency Preparedness and Awareness – Connecting with the Community initiative, aimed at equipping our community with essential resources and strategies for resilience. These collaborations reflect our ongoing dedication to enhancing opportunities and support for both the Bravo Team and the wider community. Bravo appreciates the dedication and hard work of our team. Let’s continue to make Bravo a LEADER IN THE FIELD, ensuring the best outcomes for the people we support.

What is a Support Needs Assessment – The NDIS is introducing a new, strengths-based approach to assessing Participant’s support needs and determining fairer budgets. Instead of focusing on functional capacity, this assessment will identify the support required. Scam Alert: Be Careful with Your NDIS Information – Some people are trying to trick NDIS Participants and others with fake emails and text messages. These messages ask you to click on a link and enter your personal details to log into myGov. DO NOT click the link or enter your details.

How to Stay Safe:

• Be careful with messages you were not expecting.

• Never share your NDIS or personal details with people you don’t know.

• Only log into myGov using the official app or Sign in to myGov | myGov

• Learn more about scams on the NDIS website.

Walk, Talk and Connect with Bravo Movers!

Join the Bravo Movers Group every Thursday for a relaxed stroll and great conversation! We’ll take a leisurely walk from the Gympie Community Gardens through the scenic Willows Walking Path – perfect for unwinding and connecting with others. Want to keep the chats going? Bring along some morning tea and enjoy a cuppa in the Community Gardens shelter while admiring the beautiful surroundings. We’d love to see you there!

Bravo and Gympie Regional Council – Get Ready!

Bravo is proud to partner with Gympie Regional Council to help our community get informed and prepared for an emergency event or situation. Join Bravo at our community pop-ups in March to receive information on how to create your own Emergency Plan, how to access emergency information and provide you with the knowledge to support others in accessing information for their own Emergency Plans.

All the information regarding the Emergency Pop-up locations will be on Bravo’s Facebook page.

01/03/25 – 7am to 12pm, Widgee

07/03/25 – 9am to 11:30am; Gympie RSL

10/03/25 – 10am to 12pm, Goomeri & 1pm to 3pm, Kilkivan

Get ready to roll into a bowling night full of fun, laughs, and friendly competition! Bravo Participants, Families and Friends – don’t spare yourselves from a great time! Join the Bravo Team for a night of strikes, spares, and good times.

Let us know you’re in the game! Tell the Bravo Team if you’re coming and how many are rolling with you – we’ll pin you down for a fantastic night out!

When: Friday 28th March, starting at 5.30pm finishing at 8pm

Where: Gympie Tenpin, 1A Potter Street, Gympie

Theme: Fluro/Neon, so come in your brightest dress up with your brightest smile!

Price: $12 per game [remember to bring your socks]
